Katy is supportive, encouraging, and able to listen to all kinds of people without judgement, with empathy and understanding. She desires to empower her clients to move forward positively and achieve success. She enjoys serving others and has an innate curiosity about each person’s story. Katy believes in the power of God’s love to overcome periods of darkness and knows that counselling is a powerful tool to facilitate the journey toward freedom and abundance.
She has worked for over 20 years in education, undertaking various teaching and leadership roles in several London primary schools. Katy enjoys relating to adults and children from culturally diverse backgrounds and supporting people to reach their full potential academically and pastorally. In addition, she spent a year in Tokyo, Japan, teaching English to adults and undertook a VSO (voluntary service overseas) role in Asmara, Eritrea, working in the national teacher training institute (ATEI.). In 1997, Katy earned a degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff, in French and Spanish. In 2000, she achieved a postgraduate certificate in education from the University of Wales, Swansea and in 2017, the national professional qualification for headship from University College London.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Katy likes to run and exercise at the gym. She reads widely and has particular interests in personal development and nutrition.
Katy is in her final year of my level 4 diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Synergie Counselling in Hillingdon. The course focuses on a person-centred and integrative approach to therapy. She is also a student member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP.)
