Kairos Community Counselling - An Introduction
Languages: English, Hindi, Urdu & Oriya
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity…” After spending over 25 fruitful years in the field of communications, I have moved into counselling. Having lived and worked in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Jordan and the UK, I have seen closely the immense need of support for mental health issues, across cultural contexts.
After spending over 25 fruitful years in communications, I have moved into counselling. Having lived and worked in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Jordan and the UK, I have closely seen the immense need for support for mental health issues across cultural contexts.
Like a cascading river on its journey to meet the ocean, I wish to touch people’s lives along the way. Whilst I have immense faith in the potential of human relationships, I am not oblivious to the brokenness in and around us. I firmly believe that these rough edges give us the ability to connect. The journey is challenging, but God’s grace can sustain and heal.
I have completed my level-4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from North West London Counselling and Training (NWLCT), focusing on person-centred, psychodynamic and integrated approaches. I wish to reach out to people from different cultural backgrounds who are at a loss and those with caring responsibilities. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), working toward accreditation.
Before this, in 1993, I got my first master’s degree in Physics from Nagpur University in India. After working for over a decade and a half, I got another in Communications from Bangkok University in Thailand.
In my leisure, I enjoy travelling, reading, walking, listening to music, playing Sudoku, laughing, and spending time with friends and family, especially my husband and daughter.
